What is NumTrick?
NumTrick is a free daily math equation puzzle — a Wordle alternative for math lovers. Think Wordle, but with numbers and arithmetic. A hidden equation is set each day (for example, 8+6=14 or 9×4=36). Your job is to guess the equation in 6 tries, using colour clues to narrow it down.
Every guess must be a valid equation — you can't type random numbers. This makes NumTrick both a vocabulary puzzle and a logic challenge at the same time.
How to Play NumTrick
🟩 Green tile: This digit or operator is in the correct position in the hidden equation. Keep it exactly where it is.
🟨 Yellow tile: This digit or operator exists in the equation but is in the wrong position. Move it somewhere else in your next guess.
⬛ Grey tile: This digit or operator does not appear in the equation. Eliminate it from future guesses.
NumTrick Strategy Tips
- Learn the equation template first. The puzzle has a fixed structure (e.g.
_+_=__). Use your first guess to test the length and operator type. - Start with common operations. Addition and subtraction puzzles are most common. Try a simple addition equation first to lock in the operator position.
- The equals sign is fixed. The
=sign is always in the same position. Focus your guessing on the digits and operator. - All guesses must balance. Your guess must be mathematically correct — NumTrick rejects invalid equations, so plan accordingly.
