What is WaffleTrick?
WaffleTrick is Tictric's daily waffle-style word puzzle. A 5×5 grid appears filled with letters — all correct, but scrambled into the wrong positions. Your task is to swap letters until all five words are correctly formed: three reading across and two reading down.
You have 15 swaps to solve it. Each swap costs one move — tap a letter, then tap another to exchange them. The fewer swaps you use, the better your score. Green tiles confirm correct positions; yellow tiles need to move.
How to play WaffleTrick
Green tile: This letter is exactly where it should be. Leave it alone.
Yellow tile: This letter belongs in this word, but not at this position. Swap it to the correct spot.
Grey tile: This letter doesn't belong here. It may belong in a different word entirely.
Tap to swap: Tap one letter to select it (it glows). Tap a second letter to swap them. Plan your moves — each swap counts against your 15.
Strategy tips for WaffleTrick
Start with yellows. Yellow tiles contain confirmed letters in the wrong spot. Figure out where each yellow letter belongs before moving anything else — they're your clearest clues.
Plan cycles, not pairs. Sometimes A needs to go where B is, which needs to go where C is. Planning a 3-way cycle costs 2 swaps instead of 3 individual swaps.
Work on intersections first. The center cell and corner cells belong to two words simultaneously. Getting these right early unlocks the whole puzzle.
